Job Scope

Responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives in systems engineering, network management, cloud infrastructure, and data center operations. The VP of Technology Infrastructure will ensure the stability, security, and performance of all company systems and lead innovation efforts to enhance systems availability, agility, and cost efficiency. This role includes setting long-term roadmaps, managing budgets, and building high-performance teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies for systems architecture, infrastructure, and network security, aligning technology capabilities with business needs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure operations, including data centers, servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and cloud computing environments.
  • Drive efforts to automate infrastructure processes and services to improve operational efficiencies and reduce time to market for new deployments.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are fully developed, maintained, and regularly tested.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure all systems meet industry-standard security protocols and compliance requirements, including monitoring for emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Implement infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and reporting processes to ensure optimal system performance and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement across the engineering and infrastructure teams.
  • Conduct capacity planning to ensure that infrastructure investments are made in line with future growth.
  • Provide executive leadership with updates on system performance, infrastructure projects, risks, and budgeting.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership, including leading special infrastructure projects and driving innovation.

Impact

The VP of Technology Infrastructure plays a critical role in ensuring the company’s systems and networks are built for growth, stability, and security. This leadership position drives the evolution of infrastructure architecture to ensure systems can scale with the company’s growth, maintaining high reliability and performance. The VP will influence key technical decisions, manage large-scale infrastructure projects, and optimize technology investments.

Experience with the following:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud
  • Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, KVM
  • Network Architecture and Management
  • Storage Solutions: SAN, NAS, Cloud Storage
  • Database Systems and High-Availability Architectures
  • Recovery and Business Continuity
  • Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • Best Practices and Regulatory Compliance
  • Incident Management and Troubleshooting in Production Environments
  • Vendor Management and Budgeting
  • Experience hiring and leading diverse teams

Education/Licensing/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles, with at least 7 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Relevant certifications

Base Pay Range:

$202,000 - $263,000 per year

Physical Requirements:


This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
