Job Purpose: Provide support and assist studio recording sessions at Sony Music Publishing’s (SMP) Recording Studios at their Hollywood, CA office. The Studio Assistant supports the Manager, Recording Studios with the daily operations of the recording studio, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role involves but it not limited to coordinating studio schedules, maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional service to songwriters, artists, and clients.

What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)

  • Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of SMP’s Recording studios in their Hollywood, CA office supporting the Manager, Recording Studios

  • Assist with scheduling and maintaining calendar of studio sessions and coordinating with audio engineers

  • Support sessions with production set up, technical needs, and breakdown with audio engineers

  • Assist with coordinating the inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment

  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the studios and lounge area, and stocking them with supplies

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of studio sessions for billback purposes to songwriter/artist accounts and external invoicing, as appropriate

  • Assist with Purchase Orders to audio engineers for studio sessions, as appropriate

  • Follow policies, procedures and programs to ensure company standards are maintained

  • Assist in identifying and resolving songwriter/artist related issues and complaints

  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring records of all incident reports

  • Facilitate access to studios for songwriters/artists

  • Handle sensitive & confidential information with discretion and the utmost professionalism

Who You Are: (skills and experience required)

  • Knowledge of studio operations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starting, resourceful collaborator with strong ability to identify problems and create solutions

  • Detail oriented and strong follow-through skills

  • Trained on medical devices located at facilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume may require extended/flexible working hours

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $45,000-$55,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
