Job Description
The Senior Systems Engineer works with a team of skilled staff to implement, maintain, and develop technical systems. Is a mentor and technical resource to IT Service Desk staff and other Systems Engineers, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the company’s global server, network, storage on-premise, and cloud infrastructure.
The Senior Systems Engineer participates in a variety of higher-level and/or cross-functional team projects including the planning, design, and implementation of server and network infrastructure components and complementary technologies such as data storage systems, backup systems, security products, and disaster recovery.
Systems Engineering & Administration
System architecture, system engineering, system administration, and security administration of all server systems & applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Servers, and IIS systems, including FTP & web.
Design, setup & administration of all physical and virtual server systems.
Design, setup, and administration of Storage Area Networks, Network Attached Storage, SAN fabrics, backup & recovery systems, tape libraries, and disaster recovery components.
Design, setup & administration of all network systems including but not limited to, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access, wireless connectivity, and cloud network infrastructure.
Provide necessary documentation for all applications and systems.
Provide off-hours support, as needed, to support product updates, and equipment upgrades, and address technical issues.
Maintenance & Projects
Patch management and infrastructure monitoring
Management and maintenance of the corporate network, including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access, and wireless connectivity.
Manage multifaceted and technically sophisticated projects and ongoing operations.
Meet project and task deadlines.
Service Development
Continually look to improve and refine the IS infrastructure services delivered to the business, globally.
Maintain knowledge of emerging technology.
Help define and meet SLA requirements for infrastructure components.
Contribute deep technical skills, and industry experience, and best practices to the rest of the team, driving change.
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
Work in a team environment making positive contributions to the organization.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff members, customers, and vendors.

Qualifications
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related/applicable field(s) is preferred, but not required
At least 5 Years of experience as a Systems Engineer using several applicable and transferrable technologies, including, but not limited to: Active Directory, Virtualization, Networking, Azure Cloud Platform
A further 1-3 years of experience as a Senior Engineer, performing design, implementation, development, and support of infrastructure components
Experience with Microsoft Windows Administration, including various Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory environment supporting 500+ users and 150+ servers,
Advanced computer skills, good written and oral communication skills
The ability to travel overseas as required (<10%)
The ability to provide off-hours support onsite support, as needed, to support product updates, and equipment upgrades, and address technical issues.
Working Conditions:
Medium – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.

Work Environment
Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 2 collaboration days a week. Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs. Positions will be identified as “remote eligible” when consideration will be given to candidates outside of drivable distance to our Bloomington office.
