POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Professional Support & Technical Partnerships Manager to join the Personal Entertainment Business team. Primary responsibility is professional technical support for Pro Audio products and solutions (microphones, headphones, spatial audio technologies, and tools amongst others) to sound creators and studios, and technical relations management towards industry partners to develop Sony’s professional audio products and solutions overall business including creation of new products and technologies.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Personal Entertainment Business, the Professional Support & Technical Partnerships Manager role is expected to drive relations with sound creators (producers, engineers, songwriters and artists) to leverage Sony’s products and solutions in the production workflow, receive and manage creator voice for product improvement and new product development, and integrate technologies and solutions into partner brand’s products and services to support business expansion. Experience and knowledge of professional audio and music production in this role is essential
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a supporting role to Associate Director in the team, to carry out effective 360RA technical support to essential content development stakeholders, such as record label’s production/supply-chain teams, artist teams, recording/mastering studios, producers/engineers and more for 360 Reality Audio content creation and delivery
Serve as a business development role in the team, to carry out effective 360VME technical support to essential business stakeholders, such as music/movie/game industry partners and its related educational institutes/schools and more for 360VME into their workflow and educational essentials
Demonstrate how to create 360RA content and explain proper setup and workflow at the studios internal and external including consultation and support for tools and equipment.
Demonstrate how to use 360VME and explain proper setup and workflow at the studios and schools internal and external including consultation and support for tools and equipment.
Collect and organize feedback on technical issues, requirements, improvement points from engineers/producers/creators back to the team for improvement of tools and workflow.
Timely correspondence with engineers/producers/creators as well as labels/studios to support 360RA content creation on site, remote call, and/or e-mail correspondence.
Support planning and execution of an effective event from technical point of view such as user group meeting, online seminar, and trade show like NAMM, AES, NAB and so on.
Support and guide to develop and implement 360RA/360VME creators’ community collaborating with partners to drive further understanding of 360RA/360VME, stimulate engagement and communication amongst creators for communal sharing of 360RA/360VME related information and tips and tricks for content creation and 360RA technical development
Support and guide to develop videos and documentation for education of 360RA and 360VME
Help to drive the creation, editing and review of presentations, decks, and other documents supporting content creation activities for internal and external use.
Drive quantitative reporting and analysis of technical support progress and results as requested.
Project manage content development initiatives, including but not limited to necessary contracts, memos and/or invoices with key partners.
Support administrative tasks for the team and technical setup and demonstration operations at studios.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Academic education in audio technology and/or music production
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in audio technology, music production, and/or audio/sound engineering for recording and/or live performance.
Experience and knowledge of the professional audio both analogue and digital is mandatory (within a recording/mastering studio environment; audio technology; live industry).
Experience and knowledge of multiple popular Digital Audio Workstations(DAWs) and plug-ins is mandatory
Understanding of both trends within music industry eco-system (specifically record labels, DSPs, etc) and trends within pop culture impacting music content creation
Interpersonal skills supporting development of relationships, written/oral/listening communications and presentation/persuasion skills along with proactive approach to sharing information with peers and cross functional teams
Experience working with both internal and external partners
Ability to be available case-by-case in the evenings and join recurring evening conference calls/meetings with internal and external partners
Must work well under deadline pressure with multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously; outstanding attention to detail; adaptable and accepting of abrupt change and unforeseen challenges, with exceptional problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in matrix environment and to serve as individual and team contributor
Experience with office tools required
Ability to travel as required

Annual incentive bonus
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $115,000 to $130,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
