Job Description

The Director, Strategy & Planning will report directly to our Global Chief Supply Chain Officer and be responsible for:

STRATEGIC PLANNING: Lead Global team processes to develop GSC’s multi-year strategic plan. This work will require you to lead:

Process
Lead design, execution, and iterative improvement of GSC strategic planning process to drive integrated goals and action for GSC aligned back to enterprise goals and processes
Stakeholder Leadership & Collaboration
Develop strong working relationships with leadership across the organization to effectively facilitate cross-team priority setting.
Work closely with Corporate Strategy and Corporate Finance to align GSC’s priorities with broader enterprise priorities, including company-wide strategy and transformation efforts as well as financial targets
Lead communication of GSC’s strategy to the enterprise including but not limited to global, markets, suppliers and other functions to ensure alignment and collaboration to meet strategic goals
Measurement & Tracking
Design and execute approaches to measure and track progress on GSC’s strategic plans.
Work with leadership to establish and track progress indicators on annual and strategic plans.

LEADERSHIP, SYSTEM & GLOBAL TEAM ALIGNMENT: Support and enable the effectiveness of the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team and System Leadership Structure and Processes. In this role, you will:

Partner with the Chief Global Supply Chain Officer, GSC Leadership Team, and GSC HRBP to create and operationalize the teaming structure and processes to build sustained cross-organizational collaboration and engagement.
This includes championing the communication strategy for the Global Supply Chain organization, inclusive of creating and executing the functional calendar, GSC Townhalls, Around GSC Newsletter, Supplier Brief, and additional System communications.
Drive the process to create and advance agendas for GSCLT meetings, ensuring key objectives are achieved, managing delegation of post-meeting actions, and leading facilitation of meetings as needed. This includes managing the prioritization of key initiatives and tracking success of delivery outcomes and project deadlines.
Partner with Strategy & Alignment leaders across McDonald’s to bring best practices across talent, culture, engagement, and team operations to Global Supply Chain
Partner closely with GSC HRBP to drive and champion People & Culture priorities

INITIATIVES ALIGNMENT & MANAGEMENT: Provide and enable project management support for special initiatives as needed. In this role, you will:

Organize, facilitate, and provide support for key cross-functional and enterprise initiatives as defined by the Senior Leadership Team.
Align delivery of special projects to broader McDonald’s priorities and approaches

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Partner with FP&A team members & GSC leaders on functional and project budgets

Qualifications

Key Proficiencies include:

Exceptional leadership management capabilities with the ability lead through influence and drive change and growth across many levels of organization
Exceptional communicator and listener who can tailor their message to different audiences and synthesize multiple perspectives into simple, digestible calls to action
Serve as a trusted advisor to executives through reliability, ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts, and maintain discretion
Ability to identify bottlenecks or opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently
Self-starter able to independently establish direction, priorities, initiatives, and drive to closure
Strong project and team management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations.
Proficiency in Excel and PPT, comfortable creating executive-facing decks and presentations
Experience navigating and driving change in matrixed organizations

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree
Communications Experience
Previous experience in strategic planning
Demonstrated success in leading sophisticated projects or programs requiring complex stakeholder management
