The Director of Technology Infrastructure is responsible for developing and executing the infrastructure strategy, managing teams to ensure optimal performance, and proactively improving system reliability and availability through automation. This role covers end-to-end infrastructure management, including network architecture, data center availability, security, and communications technology. The Director plays a critical role in optimizing infrastructure processes, forecasting workforce needs, and aligning infrastructure efforts with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and implement an IT infrastructure strategy that ensures systems are secure, reliable, fast, and available through automation.
  • Drive innovation and inspire team members across areas of responsibility, including cloud architectures, security, server management, communication technologies, LANs, WANs, internet, wireless, and IT service management.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and platforms (e.g., AI, software-defined infrastructure, edge computing) to ensure the digital infrastructure remains at the forefront of industry advancements.
  • Design scalable processes to support future growth and introduce process improvements as needed to match the organization’s maturity and operational goals.
  • Optimize processes and infrastructure costs, including insourcing, outsourcing, and implementing new technologies and service improvements to meet regulatory or audit requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to anticipate and forecast the future skills and competencies required within the IT infrastructure workforce.
  • Mentor engineering leaders and staff, setting high standards for system performance and uptime.
  • Ensure system uptime by applying rigorous standards and proactive monitoring, prioritizing continuous improvement across all IT services.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including special projects assigned by management.
  • Adhere to all relevant legal and compliance policies as directed by organizational standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a Director or Senior Management role in IT infrastructure management.
  • Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, data center, cloud environments, and IT service management.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure testing, debugging, and automation (“infrastructure as code”).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with expertise in metrics definition and utilization.
  • Experience hiring and leading diverse teams.

Pay Range:

$172,000 - $215,000 per year

Physical Requirements:


This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
